What that means for you
Your written estimate and your contract come from Loyalty Roofing Inc., the licensed contractor responsible for the job. Your contract lists the license number, the price, the materials and the payment schedule. Under California law, a down payment on a home improvement job can be no more than $1,000 or 10 percent of the contract price, whichever is less.
Before you sign with anyone
- Match the license number on the contract to the CSLB record.
- Ask how the permit will be handled if the job needs one.
- Get every price in writing, including what happens if rotten wood is found.
- Never pay in full before the work is done.
